Wire rope wear is a common hazard method of wire rope, and it is an important reason for wire rope failure. Because the wire rope touches and moves relative to other objects during operation, conflict occurs. Under mechanical, physical and chemical action, the appearance of the steel wire rope is also constantly worn. Wire wear is generally divided into: external wear, internal wear, and deformation wear.
1. External wear (pure mechanical wear). In the process of using the steel wire rope, the steel wire is worn out due to contact with the surface of the pulleys, drums, hooks, and rocks on the ground. After the external wear, the rope diameter becomes thinner, and the thin steel wire on the outer surface is smoothed.
2. Internal wear. In the process of using the wire rope, when passing through the drum or pulley, the full load of the wire rope is pressed on one side of the wire rope, and the curvature radius of each thin wire can not be exactly the same. At the same time, because of the twists and turns of the wire, the wire in the strand will break. Slip, when the touch stress between the strands increases, the wire between the adjacent strands will be partially indented and deep recessed. When repeated cyclic stretching and bending, the stress will accumulate in the deep recess and be broken. , Constitute internal wear. The fracture of the inner worn steel wire is tooth-shaped, and the outer surface is smooth and concave.
3. Deformation and wear (partial wear). Deformation wear refers to the partial wear of the wire rope in a certain section, because the surface of the wire rope formed by oscillation and bumping is damaged. For example, the wire rope on the outside of the drum is hit by other objects, and the crane hoisting wire rope entangles each other, and the wire rope violently oscillates and impacts on the pulley, which may be caused by the rope biting phenomenon caused by the deviation of the center of the pulley and the drum. This kind of deformation and wear is part of the kneading deformation. The cross section of the steel wire is the kneading part that expands into a wing shape on both sides. From the outside, the width of the steel wire is expanded, and the cross-sectional area of the steel wire is not significantly reduced. However, the material of the steel wire is hardened at the part of the kneading. Easy to form broken wires.
